Director HIEC for the North East of England (Health Innovation and Education Cluster)

The HIEC for the North East of England is being established to accelerate progress in innovation and education across the North East in order to drive up the quality of health care. The HIEC will achieve this by wide involvement of partner organisations within the broad health and social care environment and beyond.

We are seeking a DIRECTOR who, working with the Chairman and Board, will be responsible for establishing the HIEC and developing a programme to achieve its strategic objectives. RTC North is the host organisation and will provide support to the person appointed,The purpose of the Director’s job will be to:

+ Recruit and provide leadership to an executive team
+ Work closely with the Board and Sponsor Group to develop a programme of activity
+ Establish eective and interactive relationship with partner organisations within the region
+ Establish and maintain a governance framework in accordance with the funding agreement

The person appointed must show a passion for accelerating improvements in healthcare and possess an ability to bring about change in the quality of patient care in the North East of England. Other skills, qualities and experience include:

+ Substantial knowledge of NHS and Healthcare Community
+ Exceptional communication and inuencing skills
+ Ability to design, explain and communicate project plans to partners*This HIEC is funded by the North East Strategic Health Authority

This post is for an initial contract period of 2 years. Secondment or part-time will also be considered. Salary package of circa £80k depending on skills and experience.
