Jesmond Design Studio has been established by Sue Jarvis to sell husband Neil Jarvis’ brightly coloured contemporary interpretations of local scenes including in Whitby, Saltburn Staithes and Richmond. The business also promotes other selected artists and designers which broadens their portfolio.

The pair from Yarm, who are being supported by design initiative Design Network North, will launch their new online business at a Summer long exhibition at The Station in Richmond from July 24th to September 3rd.

Jesmond Design Studio specialise in developing, marketing and selling bespoke contemporary design and original art. Selling original artwork, limited edition prints, greetings cards and licenced imagery, the company offers a bespoke design service to wide variety of clients.

Sue said:

“It’s unusual to see landmarks from our region painted in such a colourful and vibrant way. It has a Mediterranean feel that we love and which is guaranteed to bring colour and happiness to the home and place of work of anyone who buys these prints.”

“With the help of Design Network North we are adopting a much more commercial approach to Neil’s work and through our website people can buy small, medium and large prints for the home or gift cards for any occasion.

“Our commercial side of the business will also help drive our bespoke design service in which we create exclusive artwork tailored to what clients want to see around the home or at work.”

Design Network North was established by regional development agency One North East last year in response to the 2005 Cox Report and was set up to place design at the heart of the regional economy.
